About the Author:

Gary Chapman, PhD is an author, speaker, counselor, and director of Marriage & Family Life Consultants which helps people form strong and lasting relationships. His expertise in marriage begins with the success and failures he and his wife Karolyn have experienced in their marriage for more than 45 years. These experiences in marriage and the many years of pastoring and marriage counselling brought him to publishing his first book, The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts, which became a best-selling book. Later, he expanded his 5 Love Languages series with special editions specifically for singles, men, parents of teens, and children, and published several other books, such as The Marriage You’ve Always Wanted, Now You’re Speaking My Love Language, When Sorry Isn’t Enough, etc.

He holds BA and MA degrees in anthropology from Wheaton College and Wake Forest University, respectively, MRE and PhD degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has completed postgraduate work at the University of North Carolina and Duke University.
