After more than 25 years, the well-known and much-loved worship songs written and composed by Pastor Rommel and Susan Guevara are now in one compilation accessible to both churches and individual musicians—even without an internet connection.

#IstoryaNgMgaSongsNamin by CSM Publishing not only puts together these songs in one handy volume but also shares the inspiring—and often interesting—stories behind them.

“It was 30 years ago when we started writing Filipino praise and worship songs. Ang layunin noon hanggang ngayon ay may magamit ang aming church na mga original songs. Wala actually sa configuration na mag-recording, mag-concert, o let alone ay maging popular. We were pleasantly surprised na ginamit ng Lord ang mga songs na ito at naging malaking encouragement din sa madami-daming churches all over the world. Lahat ito ay biyaya ng Lord,” the Guevaras said in the foreword of #IstoryaNgMgaSongsNamin.

The book features 31 of the most familiar songs by the Guevaras, plus three songs for special occasions like Christmas and anniversaries. It also includes 16 new songs that were written during the lockdown period of the pandemic, from 2020-2022. The story behind each song is told from the perspective of the Guevaras and is accompanied by a short devotional message for personal or group reflection.

The lyrics and chords of each song are also included as #IstoryaNgMgaSongsNamin is designed to be a worship songbook. This can be used while leading worship or playing songs in a corporate or small gathering. Singers and musicians can study the songs by visiting the Guevaras’ YouTube channel (Rommel & Susan Guevara) or watching the live “For an Audience of One” worship sessions every Saturday on their official Facebook page. Simply type the title of the song you wish to watch or study to retrieve the video file from these channels.
